Builder Hall 10 — Ultimate Base Guide

BH10 unlocks the most powerful Builder Base defenses. Learn which buildings to prioritize and the top base layouts.

What Changes at Builder Hall 10?

Builder Hall 10 is the highest level in the Builder Base — and it completely transforms how you play. You unlock new defenses, push into the top Master and Champion leagues, and face coordinated Battle Machine + Minion Prince attacks every single match.

The biggest additions at BH10:

  • Minion Prince — a brand new hero that attacks both ground and air troops
  • Multi Cannon level 11 — massive DPS upgrade
  • Roaster level 7 — your strongest ground-clearing defense
  • X-Bow level 7 — extended range covers more of the base
  • Double Cannon level 12 — highest single-target damage in Builder Base
  • Battle Copter level 10 — your Battle Machine reaches full power

Upgrading to BH10 without a strong base layout is the fastest way to drop trophies. This guide covers exactly what to build, in what order, and which layouts actually hold at high trophy counts.

BH10 Upgrade Priority Order

The first week after upgrading to BH10 matters most. These are the buildings to rush in order:

Priority 1 — Minion Prince Altar

Your Minion Prince is the biggest defensive and offensive upgrade at BH10. Get the Altar built and start leveling the Prince immediately. At max level he can solo-clear entire base quadrants, and defensively he targets both ground and air attackers.

Priority 2 — Roaster

The Roaster is your best ground defense. A level 7 Roaster covers a huge radius and melts Super P.E.K.K.A. combinations before they can reach your core. Place it centrally so it covers multiple entry points.

Priority 3 — X-Bow

The X-Bow at level 7 gains enough range to cover almost the entire base from a central position. Combined with your Roaster, these two defenses form the backbone of every strong BH10 layout.

Priority 4 — Multi Cannon

The Multi Cannon at level 11 shreds air troops — critical for defending against Minion Prince + Night Witch combinations. Place it covering your Builder Hall and Clock Tower.

Priority 5 — Double Cannon and Guard Post

Double Cannons handle anything the Roaster misses on the ground. Upgrade both to 12 before focusing on secondary defenses.

The BH10 Meta — What Attacks You Face

At BH10, expect these three attack strategies almost every match:

1. Minion Prince + Night Witch Combo

The most popular BH10 attack. The Minion Prince tanks ground defenses while Night Witches and Bats overwhelm your air defenses.

Counter: Multi Cannons and Air Bombs placed outside your core, not deep inside. They need to hit the Bats before they stack up.

2. Super P.E.K.K.A. Funnel

A classic that still works at BH10. Two Super P.E.K.K.As deployed at a corner funnel straight into the core.

Counter: Roaster placed central with a Spring Trap directly behind it. Super P.E.K.K.As charge in a straight line — the Spring Trap fires right as they slow down.

3. Battle Copter Snipe

High-skill players fly the Battle Copter directly into your Builder Hall, ignoring the rest of the base, then clean up with troops.

Counter: Never place your Builder Hall on the outer ring. Keep it in the second or third compartment, protected by Crushers and the Guard Post.

Best BH10 Base Layouts

Layout 1 — Anti Minion Prince Ring Base

Designed specifically to counter the Minion Prince + Night Witch meta. Air defenses are spread across all four quadrants so a single Prince tank run can't take more than one out. The Builder Hall sits in a central double-walled compartment.

Best against: Minion Prince, Night Witch, Bat swarms Key feature: Air Bombs placed at compartment exits — triggers when Bats spread

Layout 2 — Anti Super P.E.K.K.A. Pentagon Base

Five-sided layout breaks the diagonal funnel that Super P.E.K.K.A.s rely on. The Roaster covers the center and two Spring Traps sit at the natural entry corridors.

Best against: Super P.E.K.K.A. funnels, ground-heavy attacks Key feature: Spring Traps placed at Roaster exit points

Layout 3 — Balanced Trophy Base

The most consistent BH10 layout for climbing from 5,000 to 6,000+ trophies. Covers all attack types reasonably well with no hard weaknesses.

Best against: All strategies — optimised for trophy pushing Key feature: Builder Hall placed in compartment three, requires full base clear to reach

Builder Hall 10 Traps Guide

Traps are often the difference between a 1-star and 2-star hold at BH10. Here's where to place them:

| Trap | Best Placement | What It Counters | |------|----------------|-----------------| | Spring Trap | Behind Roaster | Super P.E.K.K.A. funnels | | Air Bomb | Compartment exits | Bat and Minion swarms | | Push Trap | Corner entry points | Battle Machine charges | | Mine | Outside Builder Hall | Late-game troop cleanup | | Mega Mine | Central corridor | High-HP tanking troops |

Refresh your traps after every defensive loss — they don't reset automatically in Builder Base.

Clock Tower Strategy

The Clock Tower is unique to the Builder Base and massively underused by casual players. At BH10 you should be running it strategically, not randomly.

Best Clock Tower timing:

  • Activate it the moment your builders finish an upgrade to start the next build instantly
  • Stack it with your Hero equipment upgrades — the Clock Tower also speeds up the O.T.T.O. Hut research
  • Never let it sit idle overnight — that's lost upgrade time

A disciplined Clock Tower routine at BH10 can save 3–5 days per upgrade compared to a player who activates randomly.

O.T.T.O. Hut — Complete It Before Anything Else

If you haven't unlocked O.T.T.O. yet, that's your first priority at BH10. O.T.T.O. gives you a second builder in the Builder Base permanently — effectively doubling your upgrade speed.

O.T.T.O. unlock requirements (at BH10):

  • Cannon Cart: level 12
  • Mega Tesla: level 9
  • Hog Glider: level 4
  • Battle Copter: level 10

Complete these four milestones and O.T.T.O. activates automatically. With two builders running at BH10, you'll max out the Builder Base in roughly half the time.

Trophy Pushing at BH10 — Reaching 6,000+

Reaching 6,000+ trophies at BH10 puts you in the top percentage of Builder Base players globally. Here's what separates consistent pushers from players stuck at 5,000:

Offensive tips:

  • Always scout the base before deploying. Look for the Builder Hall position and plan your Battle Copter path first
  • Use the Minion Prince to tank the first defense, then deploy your main troops behind him
  • Against ring bases, deploy at two corners simultaneously to split defensive attention

Defensive tips:

  • Check your defensive replays daily — identify the exact entry point being used
  • Rotate your base layout every 50–100 defenses to prevent base scouts from countering you
  • Place your highest-level traps at the most common entry corners (usually bottom-left and top-right)

Final Thoughts

BH10 is the end of the Builder Base progression — there's no BH11. That means every upgrade you make is permanent max content. Take your time, prioritize the Minion Prince and Roaster first, complete O.T.T.O., and use a proven base layout from the start.
